WIW 1971 340 4 sp cuda
« on: February 19, 2014 - 06:04:52 PM »
Hi guys,
This might be a good candidate for my Phantasm cuda. I have a chance to buy a 71 Cuda 340 4spd VIN: BS23H1B with AC. Hemi orange/ black vinyl top and interior. Original motor , fender tag and Broadcast sheet. Car was originally an auto that has been converted to a 4spd using correct parts. Amateur paint job on clean body. No signs of rust. Been sitting and may need some small things done. Runs and drives well. Has 340 billboards. He said the  car looks good but at certain angles and lighting the light reflects in different directions which means that it was not blocked properly. You can see impressions where people leaned on the fenders etc. I would strip her down and have her painted black so that should not be a problem. I'll try to attach some photo's

Thanks in advance guys,

Ozoner Bill

I'd guess 20-25. Would be worth more though if left in original color when done

I think its a great car for the money. I know who the owner is and the car is a couple of hours from me. My friend and I were discussing it last night. Its a numbers matching car in a good color I wouldn't paint it black. If you buy it I would just paint it the same color and enjoy it. I think its worth about $30k although I haven't seen it in person.

:iagree: In my opinion, painting it black would be a huge negative, but I like my cars restored original....I would even like to see it automatic again....but that would never happen :smilielol:

I know original color is best for collect ability.
Please if anybody can find me a nice driver black 71 4 speed matching #'s cuda  for 25 or 30k let me know. Most of my cars are movie car clones. Some are all original some didn't work out that way. The cars will be used on the slower mid week car hop nights at my Drive in theatres.  Since my theatres have to go digital I can easily show Phantasm, Dirty mary crazy Larry , Vanishing point, Death Proof, Two lane blacktop, Bullit ,  Christine etc.   We are planning on short videos on youtube ,facebook & the website reenacting are own comedy skits on video of notable scenes from the classics . We will also do a sit down reviewing the movies and the cars that starred in the films with  input and questions from viewers , kinda like Graveyard Carz did before the tv show. You never know you might see us on Velocity someday lol. I'm doing this for fun as with everything at our theatres. Phantasm will be great, My son is a graduate from Tom Savini's special affects school. Gore is his passion. Our Halloween scare a thons are GREAT. Oh well I went off on one of my tangents again. Just wanted you all to know my intentions.

Take care,

Ozoner Bill

Ok Brother Mick, The fellow was asking 37.5k. Told me 35k. Now wants to know what I'm looking to spend. The car is 3 hours from me, I haven't seen her in person yet. Before I can make any kind of offer I'll bring the magnet and check her out. Looks good in pictures. I did tell him it would make more sense to keep the original color which is fact. I'll let you know what happens :cooldancing:

What a great car. I know I would love to own it. From the pictures, it doesn't appear to need anything major done. I hope you can fetch it for a decent price!!  :money:
