Upper Steering Wheel Bearing?
« on: February 21, 2014 - 08:15:55 PM »
So, I was replacing my ignition switch today, tearing down the steering column, and accidentally broke the small ball bearing peice that goes around the shaft and inside of the 2nd metal casing (the one that holds the turn signal/hazard). This is right before you get to the lock plate. There was also a rubber ring around it. Hope that is clear. Any idea where to get a replacement or what its called? Thank you very much

You can also buy them new at any Dodge dealer.  Sometimes they are in stock even.  They were used on steering columns for something like 20 years.

That's where i got mine a couple years ago. Not cheap for such a small bearing though. I think I paid something like $44.

Thanks for the interest, I did not get the bearing yet. Focusing on getting the car to run. Got er cranking so I know I'm close... will probably hit the junkyard to hopefully find that bearing for cheap
