Front End Renewal
« on: February 24, 2014 - 02:45:55 PM »
I'll be getting my front end K brace assembly ready to re-install once the 'cuda is out of the paint shop.
I'll be disassembling it to clean and replace the needed parts.
What should I be on the look out for?
Rebuild the steering gear box?
Replace steering linkage?

I add gussets to the steering box mount & left engine mount area , you can also weld up a lot of the seams & improve the strength of the K frame ,  a front rad support brace will help too , I use Poly bushings , you can get offset Moog rubber upper bushings to improve the caster adjustment  , you can use larger C body tie rods for the same cost ,  optionally you can also use billet adjustable strut rods . Firm Feel steering box or adjust the factory box with shims .

Is the flaming river steering box a good choice or go with stock and will it affect header clearance and where is the best place to get them

I have not used Flaming River , but Firm Feel or Steer & gear have tweaked boxes that give great feel , or there is a way to shim your box to get better feel
