Tail Light Lens (Polishing?)

Need some help/advice.  I accidentally dripped some spray adhesive remover on my new tail light lens while working on removing the old trunk weatherstrip adhesive.  Didn't notice it till it was too late, and the photo shows the damage to the lens.  I already tried to polish it out with plastic polish, but it's still very visible.  Does anyone have any suggestions? Is this kind of thing repairable?  Thanks for the help.

Maybe a more aggressive polish, or if the plastic is hazed, maybe carefully scrape it with a razor blade then re-polish

Here is the way to go. Remove the lens from the housing. Wash it well with liquid dish soap. Use only automotive grade wet/dry sandpaper and use the finest grit that will remove the flaw. Always keep the surface of the lens wet with soapy water while you sand the lens (it's just like wet sanding clear coat paint)(the lens should always be supported its' full length). Use full length strokes along the entire length of the lens to avoid low spots or dished out places. If you can catch your fingernail in the flaw I would start with 400 or 600 grit and work your way up to 1500 to 2000 grit. 400/600/800/1200/1500/2000. Rinse the lens frequently, dry it with a cloth and inspect for any signs the flaw is still present. I follow with a light power buff on my buffing wheel with plastic compound then follow with a hand polishing with Simichrome or White Diamond polishing compound. I have done hundreds of lenses using this method and it always gives great results. Only one problem though----you will probably have to do the other lens now that this one is flawless. LOL.

I used this stuff called AUTOSOL to polish out some real nasty 73 tail ligh lens'. It brought them back to an excellent condition.
It may be worth a try. I think I found it at Eastwood.  I've had the same tube for years.
