I'm back home finally and my buddy that fabs all the stainless kitchen equipment agreed to make an xv styled shaker base.  He's likely going to make it out of 1/16th stainless which I thin is 14 guage.  He's going to give me some 1" wide flat stock to make the struts.  I'm also going to drill all the necessary holes and make any bends for the struts.  He has some different mesh materials for the scoop inserts and he will send me photos to see what kind I want.  Anyone else need something like this right now?  I can have him make a batch.

I found another website that sells a shaker kit without the hood and its all in fiberglass.  Its $895 and includes the shaker bubble, trim ring, carb adapter that is offset, a carb to shaker bubble plate, and the scoop fins.  I tried to contact them in the past about getting a shaker bubble and they don't answer the phone or respond to emails.  It seems like a more cost effective way of completing a sealed shaker setup but I got tired of no contact.  The email was shocars@idirect.com. Website is www.showcars-bodyparts.com.  If anyone can get in contact great.  Otherwise, you can go my route and piece it together.  I'll post a cost of the shaker bubble mount I'm having made for you later.  Should be around $100.  There's a lot of waste in making a ring instead of a plate.  If you want a plate that you can cut your own air cleaner hole into, I'm sure that can be an option.  Any ideas?  I want these to be universal so anyone with a 318 to a new hemi can at least have the look of a shaker for a reasonable price.

I bought rear fenders for a dodge stepside from showcars in the past.  The quality of the pieces were pretty good, they were very straight for fiberglass hardly any work was needed.  My only complaint is the shape was slightly different from one side to the other.  It may depend on the specific molds they have for each piece and it took longer to make then they originally said.

This whole shaker deal would have been finished if parts were easier to come by.  Its sad companies charge $600 plus for a piece of stamped steel or a shaker bubble.  The cheapest parts that will work can't be had due to bad customer service.
