Universal shaker base.

Anyone making a universal shaker base like the one xv motorsports used to sell?  I've been waiting a really long time for them to make another batch with no expected date.  It doesn't look too difficult but I don't have access to metal or tools to make one.  Thanks!

I was disappointed that they weren't available. I like the idea and was willing to try one. Any other options available other than buying the overpriced oem stuff?

I scored a shaker bubble off ebay for $100.  Got the trim ring for $130 shipped but it needs some body work to make it look perfect.  Mine is sheet metal fabbed to have the correct curves and ridge.  Factory ones are cast and are outrageously priced.  I just need a base now but won't dare use a $600 piece that is a reproduction.

I think for 600 dollars, I will just buy a plasma cutter and make my own base. Then I get to keep the plasma cutter.

I actually have a buddy that makes stainless kitchens for restaurants and he always hates it when I bring him small stuff.  However, I might be able to talk him into making a batch of the base pieces like XV used to make.  These would not be a true base plate that would seal to a carb setup but something to let you mount your shaker bubble where it needs to be.  My setup is going to be using a k&n extreme lid and EFI.  I don't really care if its sealed to the carb. Anyone else want one?

I would be interested. A base contact for the scoop/bubble is a good thing for a driver IMHO.

I used the valve cover bolts for mounting.

The Danko shaker scoop is made for the new challenger and is shorter than the original shaker scoop so a new baseplate needs to be made  .

I'm not too keen on the lowered drip tray in from of the Danko base plate. Looks like it melted or something. And of course with the hood up, appearance is important. With the hood down, it looks okay.

I was told that the Danko uses an E-body bubble........... I will have to ask and find out for sure, i have been thinking about putting one of their set ups on my Chrysler 300C.

Maybe, but looking at the pics in the earlier posted link, the bubble sides (especially in the front) look higher than the standard e-body bubble.
