I used to get spares all the time from the wreckers & always had a few longer ones , the dodge trucks have longer ones as well of course all my spares are where now

You also require a large diameter flat washer between the adjusting nut and the rubber on the bellcrank side. And you only require the locking nut on the bellcrank side. Turf the other one and is that adjuster nut on backwards. Flat side should sit against the missing washer. That will take a bit of spongy feel out of the clutch pedal movement.

Put in the longer A body rod today.
It worked.
Still a mystery why I needed just a few more threads out to get the pedal freeplay right.

the finger height on the clutch pressure plate may not be the same as factory , yes it will cause problems using the shorter rod , the clutch may never full release causing it to drag making it much harder to shift etc
