Ordered new door panels today. The old ones were dyed and looked pretty good but I knew they would bug me,

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

They did a nice job making a new tag. I have the old one, it's a bit rusty but at least I know the new one is correct. I am still thinking of a second fun tag like "Hemi by owner" or something like that. It's an early car with cool options, I have the original engine etc. so some day I'll put it back in but the car will be a bit more fun to drive the way it is I figure.

Can I ask who did the VIN Tag?

I know it's fake, but for those of us whose original tags are really hammered, it would be nice to have a repo (to original specks) for mounting on the car.

I'm just bugging Sheldon....In my opinion that tag is a reproduction and the furthest thing from FAKE :2cents:

Ha-ha:AG Backeast did it. It was easy because I had the old one and just told them to make it exactly the same. I have the original soaking right now and maybe I could have used it, but I didn't want to take the chance it would vaporize before I had an exact dup.

I'm getting a fake tag too.  My original is in perfect condition and in my safe.  Just in case.

Look closely and you can still see it sitting on the back edges of the car, like only the tail end of the car was poking out of the garage when it did snow that one time............................................ :roflsmiley:

I tried some rallys on the car today but I'm not crazy about the look. I have my own set but I think I'll buy some polyglas for them as I won't drive on them much anyway. Hung the tips finally but didn't install the new door panels yet.

Rally's with the Poly's will give it the classic stock look if thats what you are after, otherwise TT II's would look good.  Either way, you need to get rid of that green telephone cord thing on your keychain.   :smilielol:
