1973 Challenger one owner in CT.
« on: March 13, 2014 - 10:20:39 AM »
Hi,

Just picked up this car from my fathers friend who purchased it new and was the only owner for 41 years.  Here is the info on the build and it looks all stock to me except the upgraded ignition and radiator.  The tires are in good shape runs well only weird thing he told me about is you have to start it in Neutral rather then park.

I'm asking $4,000.00 for the car and after my research I think this is a fair price for a quick sale.

How are the floors and frame rails? You have any underside pics?

I'm a serious buyer if the car's not too rotty.

Thanks

Hmm... I already have too many projects...  But if schtick or quapman don't snag it I'd like to come take a look at it as well.  It's tough to turn down a Challenger close to home.

I can take underside pictures Monday any other areas you want to see.  The one guy that offered me Money on the car told me the firewall was good no rust and the rust by the hood hindges was not too bad compared to most.

The torsion bar area near the inner rockers is key, and the rear frame rails.  floor pans, trunk floor and lower firewall would be nice too.

It's almost impossible to get them, but shots of the inside of the cowl/wiper area would be great. I keep finding rot to the left of the brake pedal brackets in these cars. Water, snow, road dirt and debris tend to collect there. I'm sure the factory wasn't too concerned with rust protection in a hard to reach area like that.

For your price, I'm not expecting a perfect car, but the less rust, the better. :)

Hi Guys,

The bottom of the car looks super nice to me, maybe I'm not asking enough.  Let me know what you guys think.  http://autojeffnic.smugmug.com/Other/Dodge-lower-pics/37756219_tkGtgk

I can also shoot a video of the motor running is someone is wondering. starts up no problem even outside all weekend it was 10 degress last night. Also passed 2014 NY state inspection which is very tough.

4k is a great deal for the car, I'm guessing it could bring 6-7 fairly easy. It looks solid especially for an east coast car
