When I took out my seats to replace the carpet I found spacers made out of what looked to be plastic about 3/8" tall and 1 3/4" diameter if that helps? They were cracked so I turned up new ones in aluminum. Hope that helps?

Those sound like the stock spacers
If I cant fix it, it's broke

:canada:

Mine were between the track and the carpet.

I guess I'm the third guy to confirm this. You definitely need some kind of spacers on the inside studs, otherwise you are tilting towards the console.

No E Body that I've ever worked on left the factory with spacers between the seat and the floor pan.
I've never heard of a case where they were installed by the factory.
Could be a 1970 only thing, I haven't worked on too many 70's. :2cents:

Trust me, they are needed.  After about 50miles or so my back is starting to hurt from sitting so cockeyed. But I have no idea if they were something the factory installed or if its a common problem because there is a lot of spacers made to correct it.

I've restored 19 E Bodies to date, and parted out dozens more. NEVER had to install them in an E Body. :dunno:
