Power at coil but no start.
« on: March 18, 2014 - 11:48:26 PM »
Ive got fuel pressure and 12v at coil during cranking and in run but no spart to dist.
I have a m and h harness modified for electronic ignition and a mopar performance elctronic ignition with orange box. Any help would be AWESOME!
I also checked for voltage leaving coil with neg wire disconnected and I have 12v there while cranking and in run.

Do I need to run the ballast resistor with my msd coil since im using a dual ballast resistor? Classic ind said i needed to run the dual since its a modified harness for elect. Ignition.

not sure which coil you have but most require the ballast , dual is not nessisary in most cases as the ECU has no pin for the dropped voltage terminal anyway , you should be getting spark as you unplug the dist ,  I would check the relator gap inside the dist , it should be .008

I would definitely check the reluctor gap if it's a new distributor, as they don't pre-set them. To tell you the truth, I can't get my gap below .010, and it still works fine until the weather gets freezing.

Another thought I had was make sure the ignition module has a clean connection to ground through the body of the car.

It was the ground at ignition module.
