Congrats. Jaimie makes a real good unit there. And not too bad on the ratios either. I had one in before I went to his new 5 speed.

They do offer the aluminum housings as an option.  Not sure what that would have added to the cost of a fully built transmission, but the individual parts (main case, side cover and tail housing) are about $750 on their own.

from what i read the cast iron ones are stronger and do not stretch over time like the aluminum ones so im not dragging the car. i dont mind the cast iron

Just curious - how much time between ordering it and the delivery?   I understand there's a healthy backlog in play.

backlog is for the new 5 speeds.......a833 OD i got i was told to wait 2 weeks and got it 2 weeks and 2 days...because he had to build it. And that he kept saying he was so swamped....... that sounds like a happy healthy business to me.

I'd like to hear your feedback after you've driven it for a while.

ie: RPM/ what are your shift points, noise from gears, ease of install.

What is your final rear end gear ratioin your car right now?

And still probably months away......oh well, the wait continues.

yea ill post feedback when its ready to go. but the case is the same as my old 4 speed so it is just as easy to install as a regular 4 speed i know that for a fact.... they are extremelyyyyy simple to install or remove.
(3.55 gears from what the previous owner told me...

Mine was 18 spline. And if you ever get the 5 speed it is about 1 hour to change out and be back on the road. Well maybe two with "coffee" breaks.

Just a FYI, I contacted Jamie about the weight savings of using all aluminum housings and he said they save about 34lbs and that they are fine for the street.

Dodj I am what is referred to as a senior now so I have a hoist and a tranny jack. I have taken my transmission out and replaced 6 times now for differing reasons. I can now take 35 minutes to get the unit out now. If I go blind in the near future I could still make a living changing out e body manual transmissions.!!
