MSD 6AL box and harness question

Well folks I've finally come to the wiring portion of my build.

I was hoping someone out there has run across this before me but I seem to have an M&H harness from YearStunned and it has the connector for an orange box ECU. Now the question is does anyone have a connector to then provide an output to a MSD box?

The answer is probably no but I thought at least I'd ask. Most likely I'll have to cut it off and splice wires in.

I'm in the same boat.
I thought I read somewhere that this isn't needed?
I purchased my 440 with MSD system already in place and that same plug was left untouched/unplugged and it ran.

Ya, you cut off that connector and connect the appropriate wires to the msd. No Mopar ECU connector and no ballast resistor.
Connect the blue AND brown 12vdc start and run wires to the red MSD wire.

Exactly what I thought! Funny out of the 5 wires I only need 2, seems like a plan!

Dodj - the blue(green stripe) and brown (white stripe) have stripes in them as well as shown in the pic correct?

No
 You need none of the wires at that plug , you need the Blue [12v run] & brown [12v start] wire at the ballast resister to trigger the MSD

Yep, that's what I did.

Ya, what CP said is what I meant. Brown and blue wires at the ballast resistor to enable the MSD.

Wondr if I should cut it or just leave it....

It'll look a little funny just hanging there.

One more question for the wiring fun!!!

Since my MSD box does not need a ballast resistor, do you tie the leads together or just leave them?

I don't know how this will affect ignition but I thought the two stages of the ignition switch alternate on and off between the ballast correct?

I left mine in and hooked up. I read conflicting stories of either way so for now, I'm leaving it in.

Once you wire in the MSD you will find that the ballast resisitor is just taking up space. It isn't connected electrically to your ignition system any more. You can leave it there but it isn't doing anything.

Actually, the blue wire on my ballast is going to one of the "Fields" connectors on the alternator. (not sure if it's needed or not)
I don't have my 440 in place or running yet but it's how it was connected when I bought it in a previous vehicle, which was running at the time of purchase.
So I'm not sure what would be the difference with different applications.

It's a junction, but it is not going through the resistor. If you remove the connector from the resistor, it will still function the same as before.

The Top pic has the blue wire to feed power to the coil , the black wire is neg coil , not used with MSD as the MSD feeds the coil , the grey wire is the tach wire which goes to neg coil or to the tach connection on the MSD , the 2 wire plug grey & brown connects to the dist but is not used as the MSD connects to the dist . the second pic it the 2 plugs to the ballast resister also not used with MSD
