Good call on the 3:23's. I've had 3:55 and 3:91's and while they're quicker, the rpm and gas mileage will just get worse and worse. 14.5 mpg is pretty good for these cars- just ask the hemi and big inch guys with the 8-10 mpg engines. The 383 has enough torque to pull the car decently and I think you've got a good compromise ratio there. Enjoy!

3.23's and the street are a good combination and you can still ride the hi way!  :grinyes:

Had a chat with a mopar friend on this side of the pond, and he pointed me towards a good dela on a street dominator intake. Will be geting that one and see what i will do with it. Might be a tad to high end for my current xe262h camshaft(218/224 @.050, 0.462/0.47 lift) but then I will be saving it for a future cam swap.
Whats the general opinion in here, throw it on as soon as it gets here or wait and combine it with a more aggresive cam as well? As stated earlier, i now run a std. performer intake on the 383, combined with cleaned up stealth heads and mentioned cam.

I'd even prefer to run the Holley intake with a stock cam, so go for it.

New intake arrived yeasterday, looks good. Will be fun when i get around to changing it. Guess it might have to wait since It's mid-season up here, and the season is way to short to waist, as i figure I will have som carb tuning to go about with the new intake as well.

order a 1214 intake gasket , You can do the swap in a 1 hr or so , no water to deal with on a 383

Not worried at all about the swap itself, more about that it mightl affect the tune of the carb&ignition and put me back to square one.

it won't upset the ign , although typically I do not use vacuum advance & like to have a lot of initial timing as it is more responsive that way , the carb tune will be affected although it should perform better

Don't have vac. advance either, just thought it might upset things a bit. But anyways, fooling around with the carb for the second time this year, naah, it kind of doesn't appeal to me right now. Will see how I feel when i go for vaccation in a couple of weeks.

Don't know if anyone is interested, but finally installed the new rear gears the other day, and today i wraped up the install with a new universal joint and som gear oil. Wow and holey f**k what an improvment, just driving around smiling like a complete retard and slaming the throttle and feel the acceleration start, I could keep doing this forever if I got free gas from somewere

Went with 3.23 and for now I can't see that I could have done a better choice, but then again, you get used to everything as time passes. But right now this car is the best I could dream of.

Good choice - post some pics or a video when you get a chance.  We always like pics!

Well, I agree, so heres a couple of pics. Since they were taken I hav hade a streak of bad luck and the vinyl top has come loose due to poor work installing it (previous owner), so no present day pics as I don't want to show it of looking crapy and scared.

And here it is, wearing it's "wrk shoes"

Sad thing is, it looks better on pics than IRL (like that never happend before) and I'm not 100% satisfied with it in that way. Only have primer under the vinyl so it is coming of for a paintjob, only thing is, I cant decide on color, but quite sure that the vinyl is not going back on.

Awesome looking Bee!   :ylsuper:    I have a deep passion for '70 Superbees.  Maybe someday I will get a chance to buy one if I'm lucky.
