Dowel pins for convertible top frame
« on: March 23, 2014 - 08:20:49 PM »
Anyone knows where to get the dowel pins that sits in the front frame of the convertible top and goes down in the recievers when you close the top? I ordered them from Bill Rolik Enterprices, but got a mail that they stopped making them. Can't find them anywhere else. Missing one on my car.

I ordered some from Bill Rolick a couple of months ago as mine had some rust.  I'll look for my used ones and see how bad they are.

A while back, I picked up some convertible tack strip bolts from Jeff Bobst and I'm pretty sure I remember seeing at least a couple of good condition dowel pins in his box of e-body convertible parts.  You can try Jeff at:

jeffcomopar@msn.com

I believe Jeff is on vacation through March but he is checking his emails.

Thanks, I'll contact Jeff and see. If not I don't mind buying yours, if you wanna sell, a little rust is better than no pin at all for now.

I have a used set in good shape , the 5/16 threaded end was broken flush off ,so I fixed them by redrilling them to accept 2 5/16 18 studs (same thread like original ) and locktite them in . I was trying to find time to make new ones in the lathe from stainless steel. Since I haven't got my convertible anymore I let the project get side tracked .  I may decide to make some if there is enough interest .

Cool, I just got a mail from Jeff, he was gonna check, he was out of town though, I'll wait for him and see if he got them first.
Thanks, Ken.

How much would you price a pair if you did take 20 orders

Can someone confirm the thread size, The used ones I have here came off a 70 Barracuda and have 5/16 18 . I assume they are the same for barracuda and challenger.. I will start a new thread here  http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=98497.0     to see if there is enough interest . Send me a PM to confirm with your email . If we can get close to 20 ,I will order the material .

Can someone post a picture of exactly what these are.  I will be starting my convertible restoration soon, so I may need them.   If i have a pic, I can go inspect and see if i actually do :)
