What size torsion bars do you have?
Shocks have to be matched to your torsion bars if you really want to have a well handling, good riding car. Monroe's might be fine for the wimpy stock torsion bars, but if you've upgraded your torsion bars then you need to upgrade your shocks as well.
I ran KYB's on my Challenger with 1.12" torsion bars for a long time. The difference with the Bilsteins is amazing. Same torsion bars, MUCH better ride. On my Duster, which also has 1.12" torsion bars, I started with Bilsteins and now run Fox's. Not as big a difference, but noticeably better. Keep in mind A-body 1.12 bars are stiffer than E body 1.12" bars too.
If you haven't upgraded your torsion bars, I would also suggest that you do that as well. 1" to 1.06" bars are great for street cars, the difference in handling is AMAZING. Even if your just weekend driving the car you'll notice how much better it handles.
