So all three ride too hard?
If so, what's smooth? I'll be purchasing soon myself.

I just bought a set (4) of Hotchkis adjusted Fox shocks for one of my customer's cars that wanted a "better then stock" ride.
For the same price as my customer paid for the four Hotchkis shocks....I could have bought 39 of the Monroe shocks :22yikes: no lie... :smilielol:

I just put KYB Gas Adjust on my 73 Challenger.Even with the 383 torsion bars up front the ride is smooth.I had Monroe gas shocks on before and compared to the KYB's they just didn't cut it.

What size torsion bars do you have?

Shocks have to be matched to your torsion bars if you really want to have a well handling, good riding car. Monroe's might be fine for the wimpy stock torsion bars, but if you've upgraded your torsion bars then you need to upgrade your shocks as well.

I ran KYB's on my Challenger with 1.12" torsion bars for a long time. The difference with the Bilsteins is amazing. Same torsion bars, MUCH better ride. On my Duster, which also has 1.12" torsion bars, I started with Bilsteins and now run Fox's. Not as big a difference, but noticeably better. Keep in mind A-body 1.12 bars are stiffer than E body 1.12" bars too.

If you haven't upgraded your torsion bars, I would also suggest that you do that as well. 1" to 1.06" bars are great for street cars, the difference in handling is AMAZING. Even if your just weekend driving the car you'll notice how much better it handles.

:iagree:  I just put these on 2 of my e-body cars and for the money you can not beat them. They have been on my 71 Challenger RT for years and that is why they are on my other cars now.

best bang for the buck in shock is the RCD Bilsteins.  Hotchkis has them on clearance on their ebay store.

These Ridetechs felt really nice.
Not harsh. Took road irregularties very well.

I'm not after ultimate handling.
Handling and comfort are always a comprimise.
