Ok Guys, I have some samples for you to look at . in the picture right to left is ( original (right) , unpolished (center) , polished (left) I should have them completed in a few weeks as I had to work them in with my regular work. The unpolished sets will have some minor tool marks and 100 grit scratches as mentioned before. for the members on the list that wanted the unpolished pin sets ,you will be contacted with a invoice soon . The rest that are made are going to be the polished sets .

Aren't those available? I got a set from Year One not to long ago. Part no: PX505

This is PX505S, 1971, don't know if there is a difference...looks like mine though.

71 have the screw holes. 70 have no screw holes they just press in.
I bought a pair of 71 for my 70 and am thinking of filling the holes and paint/dying them...

Aah, crap, I just looked at mine and they have holes... guess I have to do that also. Have not put them on the car yet, my top comes down hard and it's not aligned well so if I'm not very careful, the dowel pin (the one I have) will hit the plastic and break it, it happened already. I think it's because one of the tensionwires for the top is loose in the back, gonna have the top replaced soon.

Hey Guys

I meant the 70 e-body conv.
I knew the 71 have holes.
Maybe they should make them without holes and the 71 e-body could drill holes in the plates
to install.

I guess epoxy glue would fill in the holes. I tried to glue one on them after splitting removing it to dye my trim, dash.
I guess it would be better to have the 71 plates for the 70 just for the protection of the pins and the mounting plate.

SoundControl  release the switch when closing the top when it is about a foot from the window frame.
Catch it with our hand and lower it in to the mounting plates.

Yep, I do that now, after splitting the plastic the first time I raised the top.... the dowel pin misses the hole with about 3/4", have to fix that...

Hey John,

The pins look really good buddy. :thinkerg: Are you able to bevel the edges of the top and bottom of the hex section while you are turning these in your lathe to make them look that little bit more finished off please, just like the original pins if at all possible. :2thumbs:

Hi Kenny, Yeah,to keep the cost down ,They will not have the exact bevel as the original. But these are fairly close .I will tell everyone ,If your a purist these may not be for you.  Remember these are not polished so if you want them to look like chrome they will need some polishing work. Believe me these were time consuming .Once these are gone ,I won't be making them again. I offer full 30 day returns on all my products.
