A dash cap gets glued on top of the old dash pad. Replacement dash pads are available that replace the entire pad, metal frame and all. :2cents:

ummm so I got a new dash pad no old dash pad on frame so it just gets glued down? its a dash pad and not cap that is a difference right?
I would be curious to where you got the dash pad without the frame. All I saw where dash caps (around $100) or a complete dash pad installed on plastic or metal frame (around $1000). But not a dash pad alone.  :clueless:
