B body rear end questions
« on: March 30, 2014 - 05:05:52 PM »
Thinking of putting a B body rear in my car so I have some questions.

What case number should I be looking for?
Will the 3.23 sure grip gears in my E body rear move right over?
What price range would be fair?
Is the following add worth pursuing?

Crazy thing is I was at a swap meet this morning, about two hours from my place. I came home and found the add. I would guess the seller is maybe 20 minutes from the swap meet.

If you have plans at all to "upgrade" motor wise I would just save up and buy a brand new Dana 60 from Cass.
Everything new..... strong, etc.
Yes your current gears pot will bolt right in, brakes too. I have a open 3:91 here  if your needing one? Never ran it just had it for a spare.

Yes the center section you have will swap , personally I like the 742 carrier , Depends I guess , the price could be OK use the offset mounts & move the springs in & you are done .
Dana is the other option but 2x the cost

Already have them on. They really hug the outside. Long story.

No plans to upgrade the motor. That money will go to my 68 Charger...............when I find one.

What size did you go with?  I just got my brand new ones mounted and test fitted last weekend.  New 15x8 rallye for the back and 15x7 for the front.  275 60 15 in the back, 235 60 15 on the front

255/60-15 on back, 215/65-15 on front. The backspace on my rims is 3 3/4 and should be 4 1/2 but I can't get those rims with a 4 1/2 backspace
