Sounds good. Did you find a writeup on the internet somewhere? I thought using the ram ecu was more in the thousand dollar range with the harness and ecu flash? Then you still need a dyno tune? I plan on going with Megasquirt for mine but my dad wants to put a gen 3 in his gtx so I would rather run a stock ecu as he will always leave it stock and I still have reservations about megasquirts reliability.

I do many GM LSX stand alone harnesses for customers so wiring harness are sort of second nature. The $950 charged for a harness is rather ridiculous. You can take a factory Hemi harness and convert it to stand alone for around $50. Also, last month I picked up a Mopar Performance stand alone harness for the Hemi swap that uses their stand alone ECM. The ECM is actually an AEM series 2 model made for Mopar by AEM. I paid $50 shipped for this new in box stand alone harness, as it was the older version that ran on the Series 1 EMS. I am going to repin it to connectors for an 05 Ram ECM. All I need to do is buy a used 2005 Ram ECM ($100 off Ebay) and send to Hot Wire Auto for a reflash ($250).  This works great for stock engine applications or mildly modified ones. You tell Hotwireauto what you are running (car or truck engine, 5.7 or 6.1) what mods etc and they do the flash. For heavily modified engines, you can have a custom Diablo tune created for the 05 ECM or revert to a more powerful ECM such as the GM unit or the FAST system or AEM Series 2.

Yes, I ran across this article. They have a pdf of the article right on their website at the bottom.

Hi Yellowfin, any updates?  Can you run the NAG1 with the factory rear with the computer setups you are talking about?

Sorry guys, it's been a while since I've checked the boards.

In theory, yes you can use the micro controller to help operate a nag1 setup. You would need to generate a pulsed signal off the drive shaft and write the correct algorithm to supply a signal to the nag1 controller
