70' RT U Code Project
« on: April 01, 2014 - 09:27:32 PM »
My search has finally come to an end when I found a 70' RT U code project...After convincing my wife that this purchase was a good idea I traveled Sunday to get a pretty solid car.

Attached are hopefully a few pictures of the vehicle.

Not the original engine or trans, but the other #'s match which is what I was looking for.
I live in central Illinois and will be looking for a restoration shop if anybody knows of a good contact name or business please reply to this post or send a PM.

I bought the car from Rich (Rockford) area who restores Mopars and has been totally great in the whole transaction.

Will be pretty sweet looking when complete.

The guy who I bought the car from picked up 3 70' Challengers, 318, 383 RT/SE and the car I bought from some farm..all 3 were gone in 48 hrs so I feel real lucky!

The plan right now is to have it restored to "original" specs to drive on weekends...I still need to catalog all of the parts and take some good pictures.

More pics to come

My T/A project is at Magnum Restorations in LaSalle IL.  They aren't cheap, but the quality of their work is among the top for Mopar restoration shops in the US.

Josh

Since picking the car up I haven't been back to the storage unit...with work, kids and building a new house just no time left.

Later

I sure do understand all that.

Well, just asking.  I'll keep watching.  Sure want to see the details on that awesome ride you got!
