Author Topic: How do I remove the "Rear Speaker" volume knob from the panel?  (Read 837 times)

Now that I'm ready to spray wrinkle paint on the two lower blinds I re-discovered that I didn't know how to remove the "Rear Speaker" volume knob from the blind. And I still don't know and wasn't able to find out. Does anybody know how to screw that one off so I can paint the blinds?

Right behind the knob is a threaded ring nut with serrations.

Use a small screwdriver and lightly unscrew it tapping it with a small hammer.

I just fought this battle.  There is a small tab on the knob you need to gently pry up while pulling the knob off.
The knob has a strange clip that won't allow it to be pull directly off, unless you really force it.

Thanks Topcat and Katfish, those are the two steps! That tab is a good idea however the execution is... well it is still very hard to get this thing off even when you lift the tab all the way. Here's how these look for future reference:
