American Collectors blew away both Hagertys and Grundy on insurance premium and I set the value.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle. FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

I had American collectors but switched to Heacock a few years ago as they were cheaper. I have agreed value of $38,000 on the 71 Challenger RT and $38,000 on my 70 Cuda for $204.00 for each and the 73 Challenger has $25,000 agreed value for $135.00. There is a policy level coverage charge of $76.00 so the total for all 3 is $619.00

I have Haggertys . About $180 for agreed $25000. Not for everyday, garage kept, etc which you would expect to do anyway. Only claim I have had is one towing experience when my starter fell off! I was within the 10 miles so no charge.

Statefarm, who underwrites Haggerty policies here in ontario.
180/ year, 22k appraised value, 5000 km's max, has to be in a garage, I must own another car for day to day use.

I started with Hagerty when I finished restoring the car around 4 years ago. Rate was comparable to others checked. After the first year my premium jumped around 10% for no apparent reason (no claims or anything). After second year my premium jumped again by another 10%, again no claims reported. At that point I sourced it to Grundy for significant savings and have been with them for the past couple of years. Never reported any claims so not sure of any differences there.

I just contacted my agent with Erie and they sent a guy out to value my car, got them to go with an "stated value of $40k and the premium is $325 a yr. Same coverage as the rest of my cars, and there is no mileage restrictions. I have everything with Erie and have been with them for 20 yrs, every time I needed them they have always done their part.

Contact.... Lackner, Mclennan Insurance Inc In Waterloo ON 519 579 3330 . They sell Hagerty and the partner is a "car guy"...I restored a 70 T/A for him.
Everything was done either through email or fax....I never had to go to their office.

I have Westfield Auto Insurance. Primarily because its the policy I have for my farm policy. I told them what I wanted the value to be(no negotiation) and pay $600 full coverage with $500 deductible.

I've had Hagerty for over 15 years, $370ish with a 65K agreed value... When I was shopping insurance I checked with American Collector & was told I don't fit their "Collector Profile"
? I guess with my personal daily driver being a 25 year old Hooptie P/U they expect I'll be using my Challenger as a back-up vehicle... The fact I have a company car doesn't fit into their "Collector Profile"...

I have American Collectors insurance. Haven't had a claim. Just have to keep it garaged at my residence, although apparently there is some leeway for shows.
$153/year for agreed value of $30.5K, 2500 mile tier.
Haven't read through the policy in a few years. I really should get it out and refresh my memory.
Had one glitch in 2012 when I was sure that I was on auto payment. But because I had made a change to the plan, they required a check.
Got a cancellation notice and got it straightened out before the Cruising season started.

So I am working on this again today and personally talked to Grundy, Haggerty and Heacock. Although Haggerty is the most expensive, they have less restrictions for driving and I think that is the way I am going. I did also find out that if I have historic plates on the car, it would save me some cash but then I take the chance of getting pulled over for driving with those plates and not going to a show or car related event. Thanks for all the feedback!
