    head liner

    ok this my first time doing a head liner since I dint take the car apart not sure. on a 71 cuda  1) is this were the bows go and what are the bow clips for ? 2) what are these two wire like hooks for at rear window im assuming they attach too last bow? 3) around the front window and rear window are a bunch off teeth ?

    You have the one bow installed correctly and your other assumptions are correct. :2thumbs:

    "Bow clips" are used in 1970, those bows don't have bent ends like the 71 bows do.

    1971 Cuda uses a seperate rear sail panel as well. I hope you have those too :dunno:

    Would the different sail panel for 71's apply to Gran Coupes too?

    The sail panel may be the same, just covered in different material obviously. :2cents:

    Install all the screws for seat belt clips, sun visors, mirror etc as well as the shoulder belt bolts FIRST :pullinghair:

    The 3M adhesive spray doesn't hold the material on very long on the interior sail panels.
    Tried twice and the material would separate off of them.

    If you buy new sail panels, they come flat.
    You'll need to massage them into a curved configuration.
    This can be tricky. The clip will have a tendency to rip out since it's not a steel fastener holding it like OEM did.
    Repro's are just a thick cardboard. OEM had a square metal piece teethed into the cardboard. Way better.

    My sail panel attaching clip ripped out. Ended up re inforcing the area on the inside with Fiberglass.
    That got it so they hugged up tight.

    If you have OEM sail panels in decent shape; by all means re use them.
    They have memory fitment already and you won't be challenged to get placement right.

    thnx guys great tips and points sail panels are repops any thing better to hold padding on then 3m? sail panels before or after headliner

    I still don't have the secret (know) glue formula that withstands drying out and loosing it's adhesivity.

    I was thinking earlier to myself gorilla glue. I bought my sail panels from a place on Ebay from Seattle WA with the covers glued on already. Now I can't find them.

    3M spray glue isn't a type of spray glue that can support materials firmly (gravity) for a very long time.

    It has to be a glue that doesn't ooze thru the pores yet stay pliable over heat/cold differentations.
