Free from my father-in-law  :naughty:

It came out of a smash-up derby car (of all places) a few years back from a guy in Petawawa. I hear these blocks are getting hard to find these days...

Ohh nice that's a great score. I was totally hoping you were going to have some name of an obscure scrap yard hat I had never heard of that was filled with old Chrysler Iron. Are you going to build it yourself or have a machine shop build it?

Sorry, no such scrap yard that I know of.

I'm going to have a machine shop bore the cylinders for me, but I intend to do the rest of the engine assembly myself. I plan on picking up a book so I know what all the clearance and torque values should be.

Any good book suggestions?

You know, I totally gapped in my initial post. I should have told you that I have a 3/4 quarter panel skin and I have both AMD door skins should you need same. How's the job going so far? Where are you at, you mentioned Petawawa? I'm in Cambridge, Ontario.

Nice video! I’m looking forward to seeing the work come along. I have a car in similar condition that kinda took on a life of its own. Great fun though and very rewarding doing it all yourself.

Thanks everyone... it's nice to be back!

@jimynick I'm just outside of Ottawa. So how'd your car turn out? I might take you up on the driver side door skin - mine has a huge dent in it and I'm not sure I have the skills to get it out.

Well, I got it to the point where I can drive it and it's (kinda) all one colour- flat black. But it beats the 33 years it sat imobile! How's yours coming along?

Not much has changed in three years since I last touched it. Rear frame rails have been repaired. I never could get the wheel houses you gave me line up and I made a huge mess of the driver side trying to get it in. I have some new ones on order now, along with the trunk extensions. I have everything I need to get the body of the rear of the car back together... just need to get out in the shop and start working!

You have any pics of your car up somewhere?

"You have any pics of your car up somewhere?"- No, I don't think there are any and that's something I'll have to work on. I could never figure out how to do photos on this site and it doesn't appear to have gotten any better in that regard. Good luck with the ambition thing! LOL

Here's some pics I took of the old Challenger. I was playing around with my new camera flash. Managed to get the wife to dress up for a few pics! I'm using Postimage.org now to host photos.

Should have some real progress to show in a few weeks. Thanks for looking!
