Vapor Seperator
« on: April 12, 2014 - 10:56:04 AM »
Hello All,
I am in the process of going thru a '72 Cuda I purchased recently.
I am current looking at the fuel routing and found something I did not recognize.
After a bit of researching, I find it is the fuel vapor separator canister mounted inside the rear crossmember.
After removing it, plugging the ports and bead blasting, it looks to be in very good condition with the exception for
two of the four ports are unusable.
This is a 340 car with no charcoal canister in this car, the fuel line runs from the separator to the fuel pump (with an inline filer).

My questions are:
1. Do I need to use this separator, this is not a number matching rebuild but a nice daily driver.

2. If not, how do you recommend dealing with the four outlets on the tank.

3.IF I do need to repair and re-use this I would cut it open and see what is inside. Then I would reverse engineer a brand new one
to repriclate it's original fit and function. So my question is, would there be  interest within the Mopar community for a remake of this part?

Cheers!
