Power to maunal brakes with a 2 bolt MC - ? about gaskets
« on: April 12, 2014 - 07:05:48 PM »
I'm converting from power to manual brakes.  I've got the the 15/16" master cylinder, 2-bolt adaptor, firewall stiffening plate, and adjustable push rod.  I have a question about gaskets.  I know there's one between the firewall and the stiffening plate.  Is there supposed to be a gasket between the 2-bolt adaptor and  the stiffening plate, and one between the MC and the 2-bolt adaptor?  I've got the gasket set from DMT and one of gaskets looks like it would work between the adaptor and firewall plate, but nothing for the MC.

Seeing how you're modifying the car, there really is no rules...You can put gaskets where you feel is necessary. :2cents:

Thanks Alan.  LOL, yes, that is true.  I was worried about water/fume infiltration.  I guess I can use some RTV between the MC and adaptor.
