I think he is trying to specify that's it a "BS". I would but that think in a heartbeat if it's as nice as it looks, slap the proper from seats in there, swap out the air cleaner and that is one bad A$$ driver!

I think he is just referring to him putting a 440 in it and giving it a `Cuda look instead of a base Barracuda look is all.

If this car looks as good in person as it does in pictures it's awfully tempting to me. My ten year wedding anniversary is next month you know...

That's kinda how I read it...sort of...maybe.... :clueless:

He's upgraded it from the factory VIN of 318 Barracuda.....It's now like a 440 Cuda.....only it's not....

I contacted the seller by email. He posted quite a few more pictures at http://www.demoboard.com/cuda/index2.htm

Here is what he sent me.

Yes, what you found was a link from this CL ad I posted last week:
http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/4427345579.html

You are correct; this was a base Plymouth Barracuda (318, and likely automatic)  that has been upgraded/cloned to a 4-speed 440 'Cuda (I bought it that way a year ago).
It's pure old-school muscle-car hot rod, and the previous owner build the 440 for street/strip. Fun driver to blast around town in, and gets lots of thumbs-up (or puzzled stares), but this car is very much a toy;  not practical for road trips @ 8mpg.

Thanks for your interest... BTW, informative  site you have @ thefarmerslife.  This motor has modern aluminum heads, and runs good on premium pump gas (CA 91 is probably the worst quality fuel out there).  You  would want to avoid using higher than 10% ethanol blend fuel in these old Mopars.

Bob

Saw the car at http://www.demoboard.com/cuda/ up for sale. Is this a current ad? By upgraded VIN are you referring to putting in the 440?

And...

Brian,

I've owned the card for a little over a year; posted more pictures today (some show the rust spots).
http://www.demoboard.com/cuda/index2.htm
There's probably some body filler in a few areas, but I don't think this car has ever been taken down to bare metal.

Hit send too fast... The title is clear, the car was built in LA, and  I don't think it's strayed far from California.

Wow those bubbling rust spots can really be a precursor for major major problems.

The interior needs some help as those seats are hideous and the carpet needs replacing.

The paint job he got has a ton of overspray so it was a quick job and probably not well done.

Unless this car was put on a lift I wouldn't even offer 15k for it as he only owned it a year and is dumping it.

caveat emptor
