    Steering Box Leaking on top?

    The round top of the steering box has fluid pooled near the top. the box is a napa reman unit. i'm running a GM pump. could it be too much pressure causing the box to leak? or, do napa units suck?

    I assume you are talking about the upper nut where the steering column connects to the shaft if so it is a bad rebuild not too much pressure , I would clean it up & look for the leak though

    I had a similar issue last year. Turned out to be a pinhole in my power steering line and it was leaking at collecting at the exact same spot. Might want to check your hoses / lines, not a bad idea anyway, good luck   :)

    I had the same problem with a reman'd autozone box. Underneath the round part of the box there is an o-ring. It was pinched/split in my case. Replaced o-ring, no more leaks.
