Headlight dimmer foot switch location on cuda
« on: April 21, 2014 - 05:54:24 PM »
Hey guys.

I'm rebuilding my cuda and I suppose a new floor pan was installed prior to me purchasing it.
The new floor pan doesn't seem to have the holes for the dimmer foot switch.
Can someone please take a couple measurements for me? From the side and maybe top of where this switch actually goes. I have no carpet installed so it's just the metal floor.
Any pics would be appreciate too.

Thank you in advance.
Tom

Thanks Dutch,
I tried doing a search but didn't find anything. I guess wording is key to a good search.

Mine is mounted just under the air vent on the drivers side.

It's mounted on a 45 degree angle so if you are placing further down that's not where it goes.

I got a chance to jump in the car for a second.

This might help.

If you still need, I can go take a pic of the factory mounting holes with measurements.

I'll be out in the garage working on a 67 barracuda and can easily get the actual measurements of a factory mount.

Not that I am doubting any info already provided, but I think it would be good for now and others with this problem in the future to see it as well.  :2thumbs:

Please note that there are two horizontal screw holes above the dimmer switch holes.
Those holes are specifically for the manual windshield washer foot pump.
If there was another use for those two upper horizontal holes, I am unaware.

Notice the foot pump on the bottom left of the picture

Oh, I forgot to mention, these measurements are off of a 71 barracuda.

Your switch isn't in the correct location HP.  It looks like you have it mounted in the foot pump location.

Freaking A, that's why.

The answer is yes but the funny part is that I converted from manual to electric washers so I guess it worked out!
