Testing lights with dash installed question

Hey guys.
Got the dash in place and thought I would do some prelim test on some things.  :ylsuper:
First, the steering column nor the engine is installed.
The battery is installed along with headlights wiring.
I've made a good body ground from the neg battery post and have good positive connection to the firewall bundle.
I connect the battery and the glove box light comes on (no door on but switch functions as normal, no problem there).
I turn the head lights on and nothing happens.
I kick in the foot switch for brights and still nothing on the head lights BUT the bright light indicator in the dash comes on.
I check and feel I have the head light harness connected to a good ground on the body.
I even tried new head light bulbs. Nothing.
I did some research and I get confused on what the headlight delay relay does or looks like, especially when I look at the schematics which shows this...
(two green wires to one little barrel lookin plug by the drivers door/kick panel)



So am I missing something? Would this cause my no headlights on issue? What else to look at?

Maybe a bad headlight switch.

  Do you at least have parking lights?

Headlight circuit has a body ground connection to the rad cradle.

That has been made and verified. Thanks for pointing that out though.

Mike, I haven't gotten to the park lights yet.
I haven't check the switch but I could with tilting the dash I think.
It's just funny that the bright light indicator works when I flip the headlight switch to brights.  :clueless:

While I am waiting to test my switch to verify.

Can someone clarify what I asked about on the two green wires connected to a barrel connector and is that for the headlight delay relay as the schematic is showing.

Got to thinking. Maybe the relay is an option I don't have. I guess everything should work without it???  :dunno:

If so, what does the headlight delay relay supposed to do?  :clueless:

Well I guess a delay relay doesn't matter when testing lights in my situation.

I installed the front running light bulbs and with the switch they came on. I thought, what the heck?  :clueless:
So after tinkering with some voltage testing, I saw I was getting voltage from the dash to the firewall. I climbed in the engine bay and took a closer look at the connections at the firewall. Applied pressure to insure a good connection. The connector was not in 100%  :banghead: :stomp: :swear:
I felt like an idiot :pullinghair:

Connected the battery, turned on the light switch and poof... LIGHTS!!!  :ylsuper:
