Cant wait to see the end results!

I have heard things about Fenders & Fins and thought about giving them a call to see if they can do my 71 vert, so look forward to seeing progress!

Come to the Spring Roundup June 1 in Everett. The Cuda will be there unless it's raining...

Just curious on the wheels are you running a stock E body rear? Lowered at all or factory ride height?

Factory height ESPO HD springs in the rear.
I like level to .5"-1" higher in the rear max, just don't want the front higher!
Suspension is still a work in progress...
Here is my suspension thread. - http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=97876.msg962689#msg962689

The car is in the paint booth.  :woo:  :clapping: :woohoo:
The trunk and all the jams were shot yesterday. :clapping:
The rest of the car will be shot with color on Monday.  :clapping:
I'll try to get by there on Monday after work to snap a few pics to post.
The grill will get some attention and new Argent paint, new Red bars, new Plymouth emblem and new parking light lenses.
I brought some hardware home to clean and strip that I'm going to put in my tumbler.
I also brought the aluminum, door belt moldings home that I need to strip the anodizing off and work a couple small dents out.
They will be polished and clear coated instead of anodized.
Going to have them weld in my new console brackets. Not a console car but it will be now. I'll put a power outlet inside it for my IPod, Cell Phone charger, GPS... so their won't be any need to plug accessories into the ashtray lighter.
Since they will pull out the old carpet to do the welding I decided to have them put my new carpet back in. They have a guy that will come and install it with a steamer and does a lot of cars for them and is good fast and reasonable.
2 weeks till the Spring Roundup and we are still on track to be there!
Want to add sound deadener before the carpet but to save a few bucks and shop time that will have to wait for later. Rainy weekend or winter project...

Putting it back together now.    :cooldancing:
Dropped off the rocker moldings, window fuzzies and door belt moldings after work Thursday 5/22 and took a couple pictures. Very dusty...
Go wing painted with OEM paints Blackout and installed, tail panel and tail light bezels painted with OEM paints Black Organisol.
The original grill and new headlight bezels are painted, new red bars, new parking light lenses, new Plymouth emblem, new stainless installed.
I'll drop off the new carpet and restored seat belts on Tuesday. Won't be long now.
The latches were not installed yet so don't worry about the gaps... Need to adjust the trunk torsion bars too for the extra weight of the wing.
There are 2 holes left for adjustment we will try just moving one hole first.

Worked on fitting the 4 speed top plate on the console yesterday. The repro top plate needed some grinding to make it fit. They are not quite an exact copy of the original I have. The end at the back had slight curve toward the passenger side that prevented it from fitting and laying flat. The good thing is that it is not chromed but solid stainless and grinding it was not a problem for the small amount of material that needed to be removed.
This is a picture of before going after it with the grinder. The one on top is the original that is very pitted.

Looking at the other side. Lines up with the old one the rest of the way just not at this end... :banghead: :pullinghair:

I got 2 of these and they were exactly the same. Almost decided not to put a console in. We were able to make it fit though.
Ended up removing some material from the front and both sides as well so we would not have to do it all to the one end and have it noticeable.
I'll take a couple after pictures to post today. Was at the shop with Jon the owner after hours so as soon as we were happy with the fit we called it a night.

Here are some quick phone pictures after work today.
Picked up the car late Thursday afternoon. These are straight out of my phone uploaded to photobucket.
It really looks better in person. The metal flake sparkles in the sun without looking like a ski boat.  :2thumbs:
The shine, the straightness, the smoothness, the lines, the gaps are all outstanding.
Big thanks to Jon and the guys at Fenders and Fins.
Exactly one month in the shop.   :clapping: :woo: :wow:
Need to stop by with a thumb drive to get copies of all the photos they took start to finish.
I'll get my pro photographer wife to take some better quality glam shots.
She is going to help me make a show board combining photos, text and some graphics.

Where did you get the oem paints? That brand is hard to find.Buying direct they want you to buy at least 3 cans of 1 color.

Yup, I bought 3 cans of each... :screwy: But it looks good and I have left over for touch up or another project.
