Worked on the interior side of the firewall....Didn't realize how time consuming the dyno-mat type sound deadener is ....Anyways I put the factory stuff right on top of it and all the components...

I do not think I have seen that brand of sound deadener before.

Do you source that locally.  How does it compare to price wise and quality wise to Dyno-mat?

It's called "WIREZ" I buy it from a litlle local radio shop here in Georgetown.
My cost, taxes in, works out to about $4.65/sqft

I priced actual "Dyna-Mat" from a local HotRod shop in Milton and it was going to be $7.85/sqft

I haven't used a lot of this type products, but I can't tell the difference 

No where on the box does it say the "thickness"

Grilled to perfection... Thought I would continue with the exterior trim...Started by blacking -out the rad support then installed everything up front. When I start a "section" I like to work on it until it's 100% complete if possible.
Had a little extra time so I covered the roof in sound deadener today as well.

Just curious when you black out the front support are you just using a flat black? Unrelated to a challenger but are 71 Cuda's the same being blacked out?

This thread is perfect for me since my Cuda should be out of the paint shop in two weeks. Its nice to see everything done before I get to it. Keep up the progress!

Yep...Just a TremClad Flat black spray bomb....I like it because it's not TOO flat if you know what I mean...Cudas get the same black out

TIP: If you have a couple of weeks, start going over, in your mind, the re-assembly now. Make sure you have not only all the components restored and ready to go, but make sure you have the correct hardware ready as well.
If you're going to bolt on the bumper, make sure you have all the bolts, either new or restored ready to go....
There's nothing worse then wanting to bolt on a shiny new part, but you waste half a day hunting down and restoring the hardware.....you get no where fast.

A bulk pack of Dynamat Extreme (36 sqft) will run you 139 on Amazon ... 3.86 per sqft ... and is about enough to do an entire interior depending on the vehicle. (Free shipping)

Second Skin would be one up on Dynamat. In most cases it is actually cheaper per sqft. A 40 sqft bulk pack will run you 136 ... plus shipping.

That aside ... I'm really digging your work and the near real time thread updates.

Also, I don't think 36/sqft will do an entire interior...I've used almost double that so far and I haven't done under the rear seat yet.

The build is looking awesome. Your doing some great work there. 

Just wished I had that time of each day to spend on my project.

And your right about hardware eating up time if you don't have it clean and handy.

I'll be following this thread while I press on with my project. My sub-frames will get welded in here soon then I can finish the FatMat install then the rest of the interior.

Friday 05/16/14  4 hours === 21 hours Total

Moved to the back of the car today....Blacked-out the tail panel, added the lights and the tail panel trim piece. I know all you R/T guys out there are going to say the tail panel should not have the silver detail line, but guess what...I think it looks nicer with it...

Didn't expect to install the gas tank and hoses today, but I figured when I had the rear valance off, now would be the time...

I'll finish the trunk compartment on another day...
