Okay....The last two days I've been working on a 69 Super Bee getting it ready and over to the paint shop. They just finished this Challenger and now have to start all over on a Super Bee. Pictures of that are on my web site as well. http://www.alangallantautomotiverestoration.com/Paul-s-Super-Bee.html

So today I went back at it....Installed the rear spoiler, shaker trim ring, side scoops, small decals and the big job was installing and adjusting all the side glass. Job went very smooth, it's one of my favorite jobs....

Get creative with spray paint...There's more colours of there then just "black" and "silver"

Today I finished all the exterior trim with the stainless belt molding, lower windshield trim and wipers, etc...Had some time leftover so I striped the car as well, and added the door handles...

Alan,
Can you take a close up shot of the moulding at the rear of the front fenders or rear of the hood.
I've got them on my 71 Vert and it is unique to 71 and not the same as 70.

I see other 71s with belt moulding but there were all taken from 70s.

My vert also came with a rocker moulding below the door, which I have never seen on a 71.

My vert was unique though. It was ordered with everything including the 14" wire hubcaps and power windows.

So what is the difference ?

Also, I don't think 36/sqft will do an entire interior...I've used almost double that so far and I haven't done under the rear seat yet. :dunno:

The difference is that Dynamat and Second Skin just work better. Better quality materials down to the adhesives. It's like the difference between a Duralast battery from Autozone and The Optima sitting right next to it. They do the same thing ... one just does it better for longer. In this case they absorb the vibrations that transfer sound through the sheet metal better. The materials are denser ... more of it packed into the same space.

I've never done an E-body interior, so I don't know how far 36-40 sqft of sound deadener is going to stretch in that particular cabin. Generally the bulk packs are enough for most vehicles ... not all though.

Your work is awesome BTW ... If I ever run out of patience ... it looks like I know who to contact.

looks like it will be too nice to drive  :2thumbs:
one think that`s been bugging me for years...maybe you have the answer;  when the stripes on a challenger are applied, what is the reference line on the body? On many (including this beauty)  it looks like the top of the door and fender are reference, but that results in the stripes on the front fender bending down. There seems to be a "kink" where door and fender meet  :dunno:

Yes, it's very hard to get rid of the "kink" look....I think I did the best I could do, I've seen a lot worse...

The door should be parallel with the main body line, if you drop the front down a tad, the stripe will be way too low at the front of the car...

have you tried putting on one long piece of maskingtape front to back and then placing the stripe right on top of that?  It`s much easier to see if it is straight that way.  The curved surface of the fender is a real pita too.... I screwed up my left fender stripe.... it has a dip right above the wheelwell .  ::) I will have to replace that section one day. It just won`t disappear  :violin:

More tedious small jobs today. I laid down some more sound deadener, used about 80 sq/ft so far....The stereo guy wanted me to run all the wires for him, so I installed the amp and rear speakers and tucked the wiring away real nice. Held it in place with a little sound deadener too. He just has to come in and hook everything up.

Interesting mounting choice on the amp. Is that a Prime R250X4 or R300X4 .... and did you put anything between the amp and the metal?
