Hmmm 20 mins total to install the motor with torsion bars?

I would love to see a vid of that. i see you get the kmember stand past the cherry picker but it looks like its sideways due to the wheels. Do you put it down sideways?

Torsion bars are not in yet....Pretty easy once everything is lined up....I keep them out until last, especially if the car had manifolds...I would do the exhaust first. More room.

The cart is only sideways becasue that's where I stopped to take a picture. I stopped there so it wouldn't roll away . I designed the cart to be small enough to fit within the center of the engine hoist.

I've been doing it this way since 1994....probably two dozen cars or more. Woudn't do it any other way

Car has 1" drop Hotchkis rear leafs and 2" drop Magnumforce spindles. I plan on bringing the front of the car level using larger torsion bars cranked up.

JUst a question you ahve upto this point somehwere around 94 hours into the build, just wondering if you were doing a completely stock restoration if that number would be higher or lower? Have you accumulated more hours since there is some aftermarket stuff like the stereo and fuel injection?

FOR SURE.....I've spent many many hours just figuring out the aftermarket wiring and stuff. Fabricating mounts for fuel systems, stereos etc....A real learning experence. All of today will be spent trying to get the transmission mounted properly

Can't tell ya what Alpine but the opening in a E body dash is 2" x 7" which is a standard DIN size, most modern radios slide right in... But the lower trim slightly covers the opening & usually needs to be trimmed....

I set my alpine a little bit forward that way I didn't have to trim the dash bezel at the bottom.  I just painted the edge of the cage thingy the radio locks into black so you cant see it is set forward a 1/4 inch or so.

Thursday 07/31/14 3 hours === 97 hours Total

Lots of little things getting done, but not much to take pictures of. I finished the interior, with the exception of hooking up the radio...That's not my bag baby.....

P.S. Ordered the driveshaft today at noon from AMERICAN POWERTRAIN......we'll see how long it takes. They will be sending it to my CDN address which will take a bit longer...

Friday 08/01/14 1 hour === 98 hours Total

Installed the torsion bars and E Brake cables. With the exception of the driveshaft and exhaust, it's pretty much assembled.
Need to add fluids, bleed clutch, brakes etc....then fire it up.

Monday 08/04/14 3 hours === 101 hours Total

  I smiled to myself as I cut 1 1/8 inches off of the NOS 383 SHAKER base plate so it would fit the new intake/fuel injection set-up....Most people would cry... Finished up the complete Shaker assembly with the exception of the emblems. One supplied was too ugly to install so I had to order a new one.

Also spent time adjusting the ride height and playing with other small details...

Tuesday 08/05/14 2 hours === 103 hours Total

Absolute waste of a day....I went to bleed the brake system to find the porportioning valve leaking.... This is an aftermarket Wilwood valve and appears to have been manufactured wrong with some crossed threads...hard to explain.

Also tried to bleed the clutch following the instructions  provided (wasted more time) then decided to do it my own way, which seemed to work.....going to go over it again a few times to get the air out.

Got the new porportioning valve installed and covered all the leaks I hope....Ran out of brake fluid to completely bleed the system....

Still waiting on the driveshaft ordered last Thursday.
