70 Challenger rtse headliner board installation
« on: May 12, 2014 - 07:07:09 AM »
Hi all,
It's been 3 years since I removed my headliner board from my car and now I can't remember how to install (that's what happens when I don't take pictures). Anyway, does anyone have any pictures on the installation of the board? I can't remember how the clips were install along the side of it, also where it was screwed in at.
I did a Google search and the posts I came across were older posts and photos were no longer attached to posts. I don't know if their is a time limit on attached pictures to posts. I come across a lot of hold posts like that.
Oh, almost forgot, I also need some pictures of the sail panel installation.

If any has any detailed pictures of how the board is install, I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks,
Gabe

IIRC, attach the overhead console on it 1st.

There's a special bracket on the roof needed to install the console-headliner combo to.

The side trim will hold onto the sides.  Ditto the front trim.

It's a lot easier to install than a typical headliner.

If I were to ever buy a hardtop 'Cuda, I'd put one in because of how nice and modern it looks in there.

Thanks for the reply.
Not sure what you mean about the special bracket. I don't recall one when I removed the board. The overhead console is still attached to the board, so I'll have to take a look at it.

Still would like to see some pictures if anyone has any.
I'm still not sure how the clips attach to the sides. Are you talking about the side and front molding.
I do remember when removing the trim, the board was attached (at least I thought it was) to clips on the side. I didn't mention that this, but this is for a Challenger, although I would think the Challenger and Cuda would be close.

Thanks

Check the roof.  Bracket still may be attached to it.

What clips are you talking about?  IIRC, there aren't any clips on the sides.  I'd get a hold of DAYCLONE (on Moparts) who makes replacement boards.

I'll check the roof.  As far as the clips, I remember when taking the board out 2 clips on each side popped out. It's been a while and I may I'm getting old (getting brain freezes  :eek4:) so maybe the clips were supposed to hold something else, but I'm just not sure.
I'll post a pic of clip tomorrow.
