new reproduction speedometers
« on: May 12, 2014 - 08:37:29 PM »
Has any one tried the new speedo for 70-71 ralley dash? Just got mine and the needle is bent. Ordered it through Dantes and thought it was miss handled but it turns out that they are made with a bend in the pointer. Dantes has offered to refund and pay for shipping but I still need a speedo. It seems like there is always something wrong or off on the reproduction parts.

Sorry, I haven't tried one but maybe you could answer something for me.
I heard that the face is made of plastic instead of metal, is that the case?

Decided to install and use. Dantes offered me a $25 refund since the product isn't correct. Seems like he is a good vender to deal with,I appreciated his honesty.

Going to send it back. Was bouncing allover and wouldn't return to zero.

Be sure your cable isn't in a bind or rusty.

Got a cable on order but the original speedo never bounced as much as the repo.

If you have the original, you might want to consider having it rebuilt.  That's what I did.   :dunno:

in that case you could use navi for speed?  I have a speedhut gauge in mine, it uses gps and works great.

Never thought of that and I was thinking of getting a nav before I go to the Mopar alley show. Thanks.
