What was the standard tire size on the 1970 440 six pack?
« on: May 15, 2014 - 07:59:53 PM »
I am ordering a sticker kit from ECS and one of the stickers is the tire pressure sticker and I want to make sure I get the correct one. My 1970 Challenger V code came with 15 inch rallye wheels. I always assumed that it came new with F60/15 polyglass tires. Is this correct?  Thanks.

NO...Only Hemi cars came with F60X15's.

The standard tire size for all E Bodies (non-Hemi) was E60X15's also the most common mistake made during the restorations of 15" wheel cars. :stomp:

The number of the correct label will be on your broadcast sheet if you have one. I know in 71 it was "33", not sure about 70.

Ok thanks! Were F60/15's even an option for V code cars. I do not have my broadcast sheet but I know I have the original rallye rims. Do you know if E60 cars had the same rims as F60 cars?

F60's were not an option on V code cars. The rims are the exact same 390"s for ralleys or 450's for steel wheels

Standard tires were F70X14, E60X15 was optional.

Ah okay. I believe the sticker reflects the standard tire size though, not necessarily what came on the car. My 70 R/T came through with E60X15 which was confirmed on the buildsheet but the original door sticker (I bought the car off the original owner in 78 with original paint) said the tire size was F70X14.
