1936 Mercedes....now with pictures.....
« on: May 17, 2014 - 09:47:31 AM »
Got a line on a replica 500K....One of 300 built by Classic Roadsters in Fargo ND. in 1990.  Great shape, garaged but has been setting for a while.  I know it needs some brake work and tires....   Ford 302, auto, not a roadster but has a back seat,  Convertable...Has extra top and set of wheels.  Wonder if this would be a good investment.

Guess it all depends on the price/condition, I see plenty being offered starting in the mid 20's to 30's.
Doubt they will bring much more anytime in the near future & replacement parts are probably scarce/pricey.
If your wanting something dependable to drive might not be a bad choice but if I was looking for a drop top the last of the Thunderbird's is where I would go.   :2cents:

Hey Wade.  Good to hear from you.   I am thinking the same thing as far as future value.  A friend of mine owns it and I may just help her sell it.  I have some pics and I will see if I can resize them to post here.  Looks good.  I am thinking the roadster is more common that the kind with the back seat.  I think that version is called a Baron.   But I was having trouble finding pics on the net.  Will see what I can do.   Hope you are well  and still working on the Challenger........... :picture:  David

I used to drive by the factory from time to time in my younger days. They always had a car or two in the window, and several bodies outside in the storage lot. I think they used to make Cobra replicas too. I always wanted to build a Cobra, still do....
