my new project 73 340 cuda
« on: May 17, 2014 - 11:48:53 PM »
 :working:
I'm starting my build thread. This is the 73 340 cuda I just picked up on a honey of a deal. The car is 100 percent complete minus the "by plymouth" tail panel emblem...go figure. The seats need redone in vinyl, new carpet, and headliner are also in the works. All the other interior pieces are flawless. There's a zero hour 340 waiting to be put back into place. Electrical is complete, and tge body is ready for paint prep with no rust or dents. My plan is to go back with a like stock appearance/performance cruiser. This is gonna be fun!

I got her home this afternoon. I'm currently taking inventory on needed pieces. Does anyone know where I can find replacment lenses for the square factory fog lamps? While cleaning out the back seat I found a brand new headliner and bows wrapped in paper. Another surprise came while we were loading the car, the previous owner asked u f I would like tge original spare and jack...I said yes I would.

Well, I'll be the first to ask.

What's the fender tag readout?

Does the car retain it's build sheet?

What do you have going on for rust issues?

No build sheet, zero, and I mean zero rust. She's a cream puff.

Wow. Zero huh?  There are very few out there with Zero rust.  You fell into a smokin deal for sure!

What was it's original color?

I'm the second owner. Car lived its life in arizona and southern colorado. I don't consider the extremely minor surface rust in the trunk an issue as it wipes away by hand.

fender tag is gone, after going completely through the interior i cant find the build sheet either....bout the only thing of interest is the inspection tags on the seat springs. any other places a build sheet may be hiding besides seat springs?

ill have to get some pictures up i got the new carpet installed along with the new headliner. we dyed the cloth seats and speaker panel for the time being. i think seat vinyl will be saved for a winter project. im gonna get the 340 in its hole tomorrow and the 727 bolted up. i also got the brakes back online and all the bulbs burning including all the timed lighting!
