I think the jag clutch is shorter   :dunno:

what`s the advantage of a HD clutch?  Are they tighter?

The one he has mentioned is shorter, but that's the reason they sell fan spacers :D

the HD clutches have less less slip under load so they pull more air

Probably not , the Jag clutch is slightly shorter & works well in the 60 B body cars , unless the rad is thicker reducing clearance the stock length should position the fan best in the shroud .

I unbolted mine. It`s a Hayden 2706 normal duty. Maybe 200 mls on it  :clueless:  Is it Hayden or just bad luck?
When driving the car at say 55mph, or hammering, temp starts rising and it seems it has trouble getting temps to drop after that. If the hd clutch has less slip under load, it should help keeping it cooler right?  That sounds like a better start for traffic jam cruizin... Does the hd clutch perform exactly the same as a normal duty at idle?

I think it may pull more. Normally used on heavier vehicles. I think it is the clutch not the brand

hmmm...  I use the 7 blade fan.  That`s the heavy duty fan. It`s heavy too.... isn`t that fan supposed to be backed up by a HD clutch?
Does anyone know if there are still HD clutches with idle lock available?.  That sounds like a nice feature for my problem too...

Maybe. It has more weight so it may tend to slip more with the regular clutch. I asked Neil above and he answered that it seemed OK to him.

The mopar performance hd fan has 5 blades...not seven. The 5 blade fan moves more air.  :2cents:

got some goodies in the mail    Milodon HV pump and Hayden hd fan clutch.

I closed up both holes I cut in the fan shroud for the hoses, and this already made more difference than I expected. I`m pretty sure a bit more flow and air will do the trick. Looks like summer is really kicking in this weekend, I just hope my sore bones will allow me to do a little wrenching   :eek4:

The amount of air coming off the fan should be obvious if our assumption about the clutch being bad was correct.  Glad you got the parts in a short period of time.
