Have not tried that specific brand, but I used to work installing car stereos and I installed a lot of under seat speakers, they are better than you think, the sound speads fine and you can't really tell that the speakers are under the seat. The models I used to install had tweeters both front and back.

Good idea and I'll be doing looking into a sound system soon to my convertible.

I was entertaining the thought of mounting speakers just behind the convertible top well liner. Wouldn't be seen from inside the cuda, only seen in the trunk when the deck lid is open.

I'm putting a sub in the trunk, so I dont need one under the seat. What I really need is another pair of speakers, allready have a component system for the front, now I need to get some sound in the back.

Putting speakers behind the well liner will muffle the sound so not a good option.
I have been researching this for some time and under seat speakers seem the only option.

So you don't think speakers under the seat won't muffle the sound?
I'm sorry but thick padding plus seat cover IMHO will muffle more so than a thin vinyl material.

They are not around anymore, I searched under seat speakers and can't find them. This was 20 years ago, and I don't remember the brandname I used, small smaller brand, it was a 6" woofer and 2 tweeter in the box though. Sounded good though, not muffled at all.

For my convertible I'm gonna put a subwoofer box in the trunk, I ordered kickpanels with built in Kenwood speakers, a dual coil dash speaker and I have the 3 speaker dash, gonna put tweeters in the 2 outside speaker mounts in the dash. Not a audiofile setup but decent. Backseat will not have a good balance but I usually keep my kids there and they are not in to Led Zeppelin anyways...

Your right any speaker behind anything mufflers the sound a little.
The under seat speakers have tweeters on the front and back, not up through the pad,  to deliver the sound to the open areas of the seat.

Great advice,
thank you  :2thumbs:

I have 2 tweeters in the dash and mids in the kickpanels also, sub in the trunk,  just trying to fill out some sound in the back seats. I'm going to try the under seat speakers. I believe the brand is Brother, have you heard of them?

Just wanted to follow up on the underseat speakers.
I bought a pair from classic industries the were 50 watts rms so not too bad. The sound ffrom them are ok, not the greatest but good enough to fill out the car.

Its hard to get good sound in a vert but this came out great. Get great speakers up front since most of your sound will come from there.
In case anyone is interested?

JVC arsonal head unit.
Kicker component system in front (2 tweeters in center speaker location, and mids in kickpanels).
Custom autosound under seats (from classic industries).
Alpine amp PDX-5 (given to me by a friend).
Bazooka basetube 8" in corner of trunk.

Thanks, I think I'll try those when I come around to the sound system. My car is so noisy inside now so it's no use trying to play music. I have an idea about putting a divider wall in the trunk, behind or under the area where the top comes down to block all noise coming from the trunk and to mount 2 subwoofer elements in. I use a big cushion temporary now and it is an improvement.
