BUILD PARTY - 6/13 through 6/15
« on: June 09, 2014 - 12:10:33 AM »
Alright, I apologize if I'm stepping on anyone's toes here...

This weekend we got to see both 4C and Andy.  Andy mentioned that he's talked to a few members about having a build party next weekend.

I know it's short notice, but it seems like a few people are already planning the trip.  I thought that - if this is the final push - might as well rally the troops.

Andy, I'm sorry if this is premature, or if someone else was taking the torch - if so, let me know and I'll take this down.  But after seeing the car today, dude... ...you're so close.  Let's get 'er done!!!  I logged in tonight and was surprised that it wasn't already mentioned.

Andy lives in Ann Arbor, MI (and I try not to hold that against him!)  I won't give out his address, but if you think you can come by next weekend to lend a hand, try reaching him, myself, or Brad.

Still need a few parts. Drive shaft, distributor (Mopar or Firecore), ECU, voltage regulator, wires. Maybe Dan can complete the list.

I'm not the greatest mechanic in the world, but I THINK I saw the rear brakes installed, minus the actual springs/shoes.  I saw the slave cylinders at least.  Might be one thing off the list!! :)

PS - I've been in touch with Andy today - he's going to try to get a list together of stuff still needed.

I'm wondering if he got the engine pulleys and brackets yet. Last I knew he needed those still.

I'm going to try to get away sometime Friday afternoon. Brad, are you and Murray going together? I'll call Murray's cell for directions. Where do we crash? Is there a motel nearby? What do we need for tools, since it sounds like Andy's got quite a few? Ian

I rented a car. It was cheaper than driving my work van to Murrays. :grinyes: If you want me to swing by and pick you up I'm game for that? I can leave at anytime? Your in Cambridge right?  If you want to split on a motel I could do that as well?

Wish I was closer I'd help out for sure.  My engine is taking a long time but I would give up a weekend to help out. I am hoping to have it finished by the end of June.  If so maybe I'll bring it to Carlisle for a day.

When I spoke to Cathy (Andy's wife for those who don't know) this past weekend, she said she was going to put up as many people for each night as possible - even ousting their two sons if needbe!  You guys might be crashing on couches, but you'll have a place to stay.
