Thanks. In this picture it looks to me like the harness is coming out from behind the wiper motor. What do you think?

No, I'm pretty sure the electrical harness comes from the electrical bulkhead over by the steering column.  The only harness over by the passenger side would be the wires coming out of the blower motor itself.
So there isn't a hole in the FW for electrical wires, the blower motor positive feed wire routes across the FW like all the engine wires to the bulkhead.

Check this listing, not exact, but same set-up.  1 wire for power, the other in grounded on the FW.

Here is the harness I'm talking about. I was calling it the blower motor harness but I think it's actually the AC harness. Right now I have it poking through where the AC vacuum grommet is supposed to go. The harness starts off connected to the heater/AC control panel inside the cab, connects to a short single brown-wire packard connector coming from the main harness inside the dash, then the harness splits; one split runs across and connects to the back of the heater box on the passenger side, and the other split is about 1 - 1.5 ft of a green and a blue wire with a grommet. That green goes to the blower and the blue is for a pressure sensor on the AC unit. My bulkhead connector seems to be pretty full.

I have a 70, and all the wiring in the engine compartment for the AC comes through the bulkhead.
74 may be different, someone else will hopefully chime in.

You can download the wiring diagram for your car here, it will show where all the wires are routed.
