That is a lot of slack. I had nothing like that. Mine was so minimal that i may not have even taken a 1/2 of material out. It looks like to me that it had not been positioned properly to begin with. You might have to buy another one and start over. Try positioning it more forward until it looks tight around the rear window. You might think about where you got it also. There is definenlty differences in products. I know, because i had to buy a second one from Year One. As far as the vinyl repair kit, you can get those from upholstery shops or fabric stores.

I think that when the guy you entrust to do this job is asking you how to fix the problems...that's a bad sign... :2cents:

:iagree: I am more than likely buying a new one in the next 6 months and having a shop in Denver do it. Up until he went to do it, he assured me there would be no problem. I would figure being a friend and knowing what the car means to me and getting it back would keep that in mind and not just assume he could do it when he had no idea.

I got the top from Dave at Roseville and it came from Legendary. This is really frustrating.

Agree with others, should be moved more forward. Did my GC top some months ago and that is IMO the tricky part. Got quite detailed installation instr with mine but it did not mention this issue so it became "learning by experience"..

As the top is already cut for the rear window, you need to start over with a new one.
72 Challenger, 440 stroker, 727 (70 clone)
70 Barracuda Gran Coupe
And on the side:
67 Pontiac GTO
63 Lincoln Continental
