Valve not seating

So after 4 years of sitting and only being started 3 or 4 times a year ive finally gotten my challenger back on the road. I had the transmission and carb rebuilt, and had new plugs and wires installed. The mechanic told me that I had a valve that was not seating correctly. Is there any way to check this without pulling the head?
66 f-100 black  240 straight 6  3 on the tree.....currently blown up :(

Measure cylinder pressures.
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

Also the car starts within a second when the engine is cold, but after it warms up to operating temperature it seems to take forever to get the engine started. I forgot to mention in my above post that the car also has a new coil and dist cap. Carb is a holley with an electronic choke.

I'm assuming that if the valves are in the closed position, and one of them is not seated, that it will not build pressure or the pressure will drop rapidly?

I was helping a friend build a 396 a couple years ago, and when a piece of grit prevented a valve from seating properly, virtually no pressure built up in that cylinder during compression testing.

Alright thanks for the information. The more i drive the car, the better it seems to run. Hopefully the valve is just sticking due to not being run.

for starting troubles, make sure timing is correct. Initial around 10 degrees BTDC maybe.

check float levels once car is warmed up. Might need new needle and seat assemblies.
Maybe put in some fuel system cleaner, and hit carb with some carb cleaner.
