E-body shackle bushes.

Can anyone tell me what outer diameter my 72 cuda shackle bushes should be ? The replacements I sourced locally seem to be a little sloppy in the leaf-eye. Can't measure the old ones because they were totally destroyed during removal, that was fun.  :22yikes:
New ones measure about 24.5mm with a vernier.
Does anyone know if all of the E-bodies use the same shackles & bushes ? My shackle pins are about 4" apart, 9/16" shaft (spring = 2 1/2" wide). I had some local GM bushes here that measure 25.5mm OD but unfortunately shaft hole is smaller, looks about 7/16".

Apologies for mix of metric & imperial measurements, I'm a child of the conversion era & my vernier doesn't do fractions.  ;D

Thanks for info. Leaf eye for shackle end is definitely larger than .84" (which is less than 7/8" ?), probably closer to 1". I wonder if a previous owner switched the springs out for another model/variant at some stage ? It does seem a little low in the rear but I just assumed it was a bit saggy.
Any other thoughts appreciated.

E-bodies look saggy in the rear with OE suspension.  Leaf appears almost flat with weight of car.

What I did was added a leaf to AAR ESPO springs.
That should help from re occuring sag

You can get new shackle assemblies from many suppliers.

Love that 71...
Only problem buying another shackle kit is getting same bushes that I've already got which are clearly too small for the leaf eye. Might have to bite the bullet & find a local suspension specialist who can supply by measurement, assuming that 1" is not a standard bush size for e-body springs.

just wondering... did you replace the rubber bushings with poly urethane?  If so, aren`t you supposed to re-use the outer sleeve?  shooting from the hip here... I did mine, but can`t remember anything of that episode...  ::)   Would be an explanation for the missing mm.

That's only on the front lower control arm bushings....his issue is with rear spring shackles .

No, all rubber bushes purchased.

Bullit, that 2nd bush spec you posted looks to be spot on, silly question I know, but what is a B150 ? We only had a select few vehicles releaseed here (Australia) by dodge/chrysler in the 70's & 80's so not that familiar with all their models, is it a sedan or pickup or other ?

B-150 is a van, should be the same part on a D-150 pickup... Can you access the NAPA website? they are good to give measurements. If you have a model in mind to check let me know & I'll look for you .
