Pitman arm question
« on: June 24, 2014 - 06:22:57 PM »
Hi everyone...

A friend of mine has a '74 'Cuda with manual steering. He wants to convert it to power steering. Now, I know that power steering boxes has two different sector shaft diameter. Usally, 1970-71-72 has the small sector shaft and 1973-74 has the large shaft. Is it the same thing with the manual box?  We have every reason to believe that his manual box is the car's original. The reason I'm asking is, we want to order the right power steering box, so we can re-use his pitman arm. Thanks!

I am not sure if the manual ever changed diameter .
