    Hi. i,m a new member and new to mopars. i have restored 2 chevelles now looking for a change. i looked at a 70 cuda  today, no motor but was a 318 car, 95% of parts are there,4 gear tranny, 8 3/4 rear, seats need redone body is excellent, floors trunk frame etc, new grill ,etc  only thing body wise is 2 lower quarters. everything is in great shape. asking   $10,000 cdn   is this a good price  he also has a 340, and  a 383 that  is for sale but didn,t get into that yet. any advice please. thanks

    5 years ago, I would of laughed my a s s off after reading that.  Now I'm not convinced that's such a bad deal.  If the body is really solid and all you'll need to do to have a cool ass 70 cuda is put a motor in it??  Tough to find a decent 70 cuda for that price.   :dontknow:

    Welcome to the board 300!  So, that's about $8K US.  It's amazing how much prices have jumped in the past 5 years!  I guess I'll be the pessimist here...You've got a non numbers matching barracuda that needs body work, paint and an engine. That $10K Canadian would be my absolute upper limit on what I'd spend on it.

    I would take it!! I have a 70 same as what you are talking about but i only need a center trunk. Has a 383 now was 318 car. I have been offered 19 000can for it and turned it down. Thats seems like a good deal.

    Welcome 300!!  I'd say if you're fixed on a '70 Cuda, you should definitely grab that one.  I'd also look into what he's asking for the 340 because that could be a very nice combo for it. :thumbs:  Best of luck with what you decide to do.

    It's all expensive! That's just the way it is! I would say that if you plan to drop some big coin on a full restoration and plan to sell when you're done, keep going until you get a '71 in your hands. I gave $4500 for a '72 that was all there but in a bad way. There might be better deals to be hand, but it's not like these cars are everywhere.

    71's will definately bring more money than a 70...but 70's are slowly catching up.

    Actually, I think I would love them more if they were only worth $100, because then I could actually afford them. :laughing:

    Thanks people, other than finding a motor, everthing is there new grill nos, new gas tank in a box , new carpet in a box, pistol grip  needs console, tranny there 4 speed need clutch, need drive shaft,bumpers have been redone,nos front fenders, interior needs recovered, need headliner, 2 small cracks in dash by speaker, no holes in floors trunk etc, frame and extentions are solid. I think this is a pretty good deal with all your comments. Thanks again. more comments.   Great site

    Welcome, that is a lot for a rolling chasis, but with the new and nos parts you listed, it is what you expect to see these days. Yes it's a lot of $$$$$$$$$, but that will be one hell of a car. If a 70 is a must for you, there it is, but personally if I were looking for a Cuda, I'd be looking for those round tail lights. I like that look better and I like the prices better too,lol. Please p[ost some pics for us OK?

    Really, seriously...why am I always hearing "71 'cudas" but rarely hear "70 'cuda"?? I hear a lot more "'72-74 cuda's".

    Any reason why the 70 cuda's aren't talked up as much as the 70 Challenger's?

    It appears that the '71 Cuda and the '70 Challenger rank 1-2 in the Mopar value chart, but I don't get it.  '71 Challenger's and '70 Cuda's I don't hear too much about.  :dontknow:

    Any thoughts?
